Text	If we act for you in the sale of a property, and you are not resident in this country, because we handle the proceeds of the sale, we are legally responsible for the filing of a capital gains tax (CGT) return. We must discharge this on your behalf. We do this on the basis that you indemnify us. This means that you agree to pay us back in full for any loss we suffer due to something you do, or omit to do, or some wrongdoing on your part. If we act for you as a non-resident beneficiary of an estate, we are legally responsible for the filing of a capital acquisitions tax (CAT) return and payment of any tax. We must discharge this on your behalf. We do this on the basis that you indemnify us. This means that you agree to pay us back in full for any loss we suffer due to something you do, or omit to do, or some wrong-doing on your part.
